I am an ESL teacher and we spend a lot of time on words like this.
Transformed Nonconformist
That’s awesome! I’m hoping to have a sentence or paragraph for each pair or group which clearly shows each meaning in context. Feel free to use them if you think they’re appropriate ๐
As another teacher, I also think your posts will make a great teaching aid (although there may be some difference in spellings between the UK and the US depending upon which words you’ll be choosing) looking forward to reading more ๐

Thanks for stopping in!
I’ve been having fun checking the dictionary entry for the words I’ve chosen, there are some meanings and origins that I didn’t know about. The big challenge is finding a way to use all the meanings in just a few sentences (and have it make sense).
Ooh, you should add something about Facebook “adds” — seems like a lot of people confuse the words when referring to being added to a group “Thanks for the ad!” is a lot different than “Thanks for the add!” ๐
I’m thinking about doing some follow up pieces where I “translate” real world examples to what they’ve *actually* said. Just because I like snark ๐
Love this! What a great theme ๐
Have a great weekend!
